My name is Vojtěch Šimek and I’m a painter from Brno, Czech Republic, specializing in oil portraits and inspired by the beauty of classical art—particularly the Baroque era. My work is influenced by masters like Rembrandt, Velázquez, and Van Dyck, whose use of light, depth, and emotion continues to guide my artistic journey.

In addition to painting, music plays an important role in my life. I’m passionate about classical composers like Mozart, Bach, and Vivaldi, but I also have a love for rock music. Recently, I recorded my own rock album Desert Sun, available on YouTube.

With every portrait, I search for something beyond the surface—a quiet expression, a flicker of light, a trace of soul. Painting is not just what I do, it’s how I see the world.
